The Humboldt Foundation Liaison Office in Canada is a partnership between the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), the University of Alberta and the Humboldt Association of Canada. Its mandate is to increase knowledge of the programs of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Canada. These programs are designed to fund young, qualified scientists from all countries and disciplines during their research stays in Germany. More...

- The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is a non-profit organization established by the Federal Republic of Germany that sponsors outstanding, foreign scientists and scholars via specific funding programs to spend extended periods of research in Germany and promotes follow-up academic contacts.
- The Humboldt Foundation promotes an active world-wide network of scholars. Longstanding follow-up contacts have been hallmarks of the Foundation's work since 1953.
